I have lost 38 lbs, in 9 weeks but now have troubles eating, any suggestions??

Question: The weight loss was due to emotional stress, I have not tried to loose weight but it didn't hurt. I am afraid of gaining the wieght back. I drink lots of water (lots) but am rarely hungry. I have intoduced a workout program 4-6 times a week. When I do get hungry it is in late hours of the evening and I know that is not good. I at best eat 1 meal a day and it is small. I have lost all desire for fast food and unhealthy things. When i do eat it is limited to chicken and vegatables, with fruit as a snack. I would imagine my calorie intake is between 500-1000 a day. I have plateaued on loosing weight, but now goal to loose another 10-12 pounds. I do not take any pills
Answers: Frankly, I would guess that your stomach has shrunk considerably.

If you want to get in some extra nutrition, the easiest way is to get something like Ensure or Carnation Instant Breakfast and to consume that. On a diet as restricted as you're describing, by the way, I would seriously recommend an inexpensive oral multivitamin with minerals; on the whole, on 1000 calories a day, it is extremely difficult to get all of the vitamins and minerals you need.

In terms of a more normal diet (like chicken and veggies and fruit and such), try eating a little bit more, maybe a tablespoon or two, with each meal and then as you tolerate it, increase the volume. That will allow you to gently and slowly restretch your stomach.

Congratulations on the weight loss, by the way. Maintain the discipline, and keep the weight off!!
Not good losing weight cause you were stressed out, but you need to not work out so much and continue to eat more proteins, and less carbs...and you will lose and not gain the weight back..but don't stop eating honey this can give you serious problems..you need to get knowedge with books about eating healthy and not starve yourself. And too you need to not allow anything to stress you out..Trust in God and he will help you threw it all...god bless
Eat when you are hungry. Don't eat when not hungry. You couldn't get much healthier than that.

I think your body has plateaued b/c it realized you were losign weight, and now it is beign stubborn. ;) Keep exercising. You'll pass thru that plateau.
I think you are putting your body into starvation mode by undereating. When you do that it'll hang on to all the fat that much tighter. I bet if you eat a little more you will lose more weight. That seems counter-intuitive, but your body needs to know it's not starving before it releases any more poundage. Good luck!
