I am in great shape, but can not run for the life of me, any suggestions or reasons this is??

Question: I'm active in the Marine Corp and running is priority. I'm very active in the weight room and consider myself to be in very good condition. I do suffer from arthiritis in my right hip and right knee but the pain I can run through. I'm 6 foot and 195 lbs. But I just cant run any suggestions
Answers: Running has more to do with stamina than with muscular condition. Also, injuries such as you discuss can really hamper good running technique. If you have to run, I'd suggest getting some good braces & meds and building your stamina on a treadmill. Make sure you drink plenty of water!
If it's the pain stopping you, then you may have a pinched nerve. Go see a doctor now! If this is the case.

If pain is not the issue, get a self hypnosis book and learn to program your mind to focus on distance and heartrate.
