Do you consider overeating a eating disorder??

Question: I personally think that I have a eating disorder. I can't seem to get over this.
Answers: There is actually a disorder called Binge-Eating Disorder. It is being studied by psychologists. It is similiar to Bulimia except you do not purge, you just binge. When i say binge, I mean taking in a lot of calories at once (sometimes up to 3000). This is something individuals with this disorder cannot control and feel extreme guilt over. It is different than just liking food a lot and eating poorly (fast food etc). When people with this disorder binge they often don't even fully chew the food.
yea...i go through phases where i over eat...then under eat. and a couple times, ive done the bulemic thing too...
I think it is just a lack of self control.

No matter how good that ice cream tastes, I do not feel the need to eat the entire pint in one sitting.

I received a nice sized box of chocolate covered Oreos as a gift. I eat 1 - 2 cookies per day, and do not feel the need to eat more than that, because I use self control.
no it just mean that u like food a lot, like me, but i'm not overweight
yes it is. it depends on what is triggering you to over eat. it could be related to an inner issue
Yes. Read the portions on the package. I overeat.
yeah... go to Dr for futher information
I had a problem with bulimia. Over eating is a compulsion, just like that. Food has little or nothing to do with it. Do you feel like feeding yourself (or not feeding yourself, in the case of anorexia) is the only thing you can control in your life? When I get real nervous and close to a panic attack, and I'm getting pushed by everyone to get better , the compulsion to binge and purge takes over. That will show them! See if you can find someone in your area, it most definitely comes into the category of eating disorder . Thin or not, we both play games with food. Good luck hon.
Yes i do. I think the best way to deal with that is to use smaller plates. That way when you fill up that plate, it seems like a lot when it's only a little. IF that doesn't work, just think of all the harm your doing to your body each time you take that extra bite, hopefully it will scare you enough to stop eating.
I think that it could be if you feel that you are overweight.
No. Not unless your throwing up or not eating
definitely
