I need to know all about vegetarianism! What are the benefits, disadvantages, and some good recipes???

Question: I have decided to become a vegetarian, and I'm hoping that over time, I'll work up to becoming a vegan (in a while from now). What are some good, easy recipes to follow that don't require a large number of ingredients? I want to start cooking with more soy foods (soy milk, tofu, etc.) Do you have any good recipes for soy foods?

Also, what are some advantages, disadvantages, and tips for staying on the road to no more meat? I need all the info I can get! Thank you!

Note: I'm still eating dairy products.
Answers: You can go the the library. Theres a Vegetarian magazine that lists tips and recipes. I'm not a vege but my friend is, she eats a ton of vegetables and legumes. Be sure to take a daily vitamin for the things you may not be getting with your new diet. It is possible to get everything, but you may have to eat a lot of differnt foods.

Oh and to the person that said our teeth are the way they are for a reason, the majority of our teeth are flat, made to grind, not rip and tear. If you had teeth that looked like a dog or cats then you could say our teeth were made for eating meat.
Not eating meat is really easy for me. Dont hangout with people if you know there going to a place with meat such as mcdonalds. Eat all the foods you normally eat just don't ea the meat ones. Being a veggeterian/vegan you are less likely to be obese and you will be much healthier than a meat eater.
I hope you are fully grown. We are omnivores for a reason. If you don't believe me, check out our teeth. Veggies are good for you, but you need meat too. Pop quiz, name all the players in the NBA from India?

Unless you have a specific health problem, stick to a balanced diet.
How can you decide to become a vegetarian when you clearly don't know anything about it?
Of the 39 people I have known who were vegetarian, all but one got cancer. Of the other hundred or two people I know, only four got cancer. It may be some kind of fluke, but do some research. When you are young, you think you are invincible, but when you get to the sunny side of sixty, you start calculating.
You dont have to feel guilty about killing animals or being the cause of it. You loose weight and vegtables are more healthy than meat in most cases i guess depending all upon which kind of vegtable you eat and how much and often you eat of it. Try veggy burgers to start off with. It will trick your mind into think its hamburger so your not craving meat like a carnvor as much.
Ive been a vegetarian my whole life and I eat lots of salads, pizza, and fish. Being a vegetarian has good health benefits. It takes the human body atleast 12hrs to digest a piece of meat, compared to 1 hr to digest a fruit or vegetable. I'm 6 ft 215 and I'm in pretty good shape.

The disadvantage of being a vegetarian is you can be inconvienced when you go to cookouts and banquets and other social gatherings. Since a lot of people dont cater to vegeterians.
