Has anyone ever had trouble with hives as a nervous problem (like anxiety) , not an allergy??
Question: ...if so, what do you do to keep the outbreaks away, and how did you treat it?
Answers: No personal experience myself, but I know of a few people that have experienced this.
They treated their hives with anti-anxiety medication and some brief counseling to address their anxiety.
yes hives go away by themselves=you have to get yourself calmed down for this to work
I had to be prescribed an anti anxiety medication (Vistaril) it works great, its cheap and its nonaddictive...God Bless hun!
Anxiety is not a known cause of hives
What Causes Hives and Angioedema?
Hives and angioedema form when, in response to histamine, blood plasma leaks out of small blood vessels in the skin. Histamine is a chemical released from specialized cells along the skin's blood vessels.
Allergic reactions, chemicals in foods, insect stings, sunlight exposure, or medicines can all cause histamine release. Sometimes it's impossible to find out exactly why hives have formed
Rubbing an anti-histamine cream such as benadryl on hives and avoiding scratching the area assist in healing.
Well I am not really sure but if this helps any way at all when my aunt gets really upset and nervouse her chest turn REALLY red ask ur doctor he/she will be sure to know and if not they are horrible at there job!
My sister has this problem. Her Dr. put her on a anti-depressant (to help deal with the anxiety) and a anti-anxiety pill for bad days. She also is taking Benadryl to help with the itchiness of the hives at night.
Good luck!
Hi. I have had a bit of trouble with this kind of problem in the past. I did go through the whole medical cream thing but I would say the best way to treat it is to treat them with aloe vera. I used to buy the gels but now i have an aloe vera plant on standby and rub it over the areas. it is amazing.
also, not to be too predictable but drinking more water than usual keeps the body temperature down but make sure that it is at room temperature.
and don't forget to breathe deeply when the stress levels rise. take it easy.
Yes. Although I do have skin allergies, I also can break out in hives when I'm really stressed. So first off, I try to keep the stress level down and try stress relieving techniques. Of course this doesn't always work, and sometimes I break out in hives. I use a anti-itch cream (benadryl cremes work best) over the hives. If this doesn't help, or they get worse, I have to go into the doctor and get a cortisol shot (in the behind). I also take Zertec, works great on helping prevent all types of allergies and the only thing that really works against skin allergies and hives (even helps some with stress hives, at least it does for me).
Hope this little bit of info helps.
