My allergy doctor told me that the best thing to do is wash your face often. What happens is the allergens stick to your face and sometimes sweat or tears can make them get in your eyes. Pay special attention to the area above and around the eyes. It works pretty well for me. After that, there are specific allergy drops, but I don't like them too much. Try to blink a lot and get moisture to your eyes. Hope that helped
rest one warm tea bag on each eye.
For me visine drops make things worse after just a few days. I splash a little cool water on my face and then alternate with warm. It works for me.
Go to the eye doctor. There could be something wrong as minor as conjunctivitis (pink eye) that can be treated with antibiotic eye drops, or as serious as glaucoma that is also treatable but if if neglected can lead to blindness. If it's been more than three or four days, go have it checked out.
drink more water you may be dehydrated or get more sleep 8 hrs a day for two days should show a difference
I had that problem for years. then I put aloe vera on my eyes and it went immediately away.It completely healed my eyes.you can buy some aloe as a juice at health food stores.put some in an eye dropper.
Aloe vera is probably a good idea, as suggested by someone else....but the fact that it's worse when you wake up suggests that there might be things you are allergic to IN YOUR BEDDING: get dust mite covers for your mattress and pillows, for starters. Then make sure the detergent you use is UNSCENTED and has NO COLOR. Make sure you do not use fabric conditioner in the wash or fabric softener in the dryer. Rinse your laundry one or two EXTRA times. Last, if the above hasn't taken care of it, buy organic cotton, un-dyed, sheets, and wash them as above. I did this (except the organic sheets) for my son when he was a kid and cleared up a facial rash, swollen eyes and ears, and small white bumps on his face. Took about two weeks. Now that he and his wife are thinking of getting pregnant, I'm buying them the organic sheets.
You should talk with your Allergist or doctor about this. You are probably suffering from allergies such as bed mites or dust. There are several prescription allergy eye drops they can prescribe that will help you feel better and releive the redness in just a couple of days. I use one called Patenol. It's awesome. 1-2 drops per eye, twice a day. Within two days my eyes clear up. Continue using it as needed.

Info on Patenol:
What is Patenol
Patenol is an antihistamine used to treat ocular (eye) symptoms of allergic conditions, such as inflammation, itching, watering, and burning. Patenol solution gives you fast, effective relief from all your eye allergy symptoms. Just one drop, twice a day. Patenol protects your eyes from the effects of pollen, mold, dust mites, pollution and pet hair.
How To Use Patenol
Patenol should be used only for allergic conditions. It is not a remedy for irritation from contact lenses. Do not use any eyedrop that is discolored or has particles in it. Do not touch the dropper to any surface, including your eyes or hands. The dropper is sterile. If it becomes contaminated, it could cause an infection in your eye. Apply light pressure to the inside corner of your eye (near your nose) after each drop to prevent the fluid from draining down your tear duct. When applying the eyedrops, be careful to avoid touching the eyelids with the dropper tip. This could contaminate the solution. Tilt your head back slightly and pull down on your lower eyelid. Position the dropper above your eye. Look up and away from the dropper. Squeeze out a drop and close your eye. Apply gentle pressure to the inside corner of your eye (near your nose) for about 1 minute to prevent the liquid from draining down your tear duct.
If you are using more than one drop in the same eye, repeat the process with about 5 minutes between drops. Patenol is usually applied twice a day with 6 to 8 hours between doses. Follow your doctor's instructions. Do not wear soft contact lenses while the eyes are red. At other times, wait at least ten minutes after applying Patenol before inserting the lenses. The usual dose is 1 drop in each affected eye 2 times a day. Allow 6 to 8 hours between doses.
