Dog Allergies??

Question: I am somewhat allergic to short haired dogs. I get really bad hayfever in the summer which almost every day results in me having to go to sleep becuase the pain in my eyes are that unbearable. When I go near short haired dogs I get the same symptoms. I get prescribed eye drops that help a little bit but I don't get them in the winter, but am around short haired dogs quite often. Anyone know any tricks on reducing the amount I suffer or just some general helpful comments? Anything appreciated. Thanks.
Answers: Antihistamine drugs might help you. loratidine or cetirizine hydrochloride are the two common ones, brand names vary, top tip, buy the supermarket own brand ones for half the price.

try not to rub your eyes!

I'm allergic to cats and dogs, my symptoms are sneezing and runny nose as well as itchy eyes.
Go to your local pharmacy and have a chat with the pharmacist. He will probably recommend an antihistamine like Piriton which you can buy over the counter
Take antihistamines daily (either prescribed or over the counter)
ask your doctor about a course of desensitisation injections...;
It might seem funny but a mask, the kind doctors wear or construction workers wear that cover the mouth and nose, might help. They filter the allergens out of the air.

Also an air filter might help.
