Allegra-D question!??

Question: I've been taking Allegra-D for two months, and it's helped my allergies so much! However, I would like to know if you can take this drug year-round. My Rx is has no refills on it, I am going to call the dr. to see if he will let me have more because I have allergies all the time, not just certain times of the year. I appreciate any help. Thanks!
Answers: So far there isn't any generic for Allegra-D in the US, but it's fine to take year yound. There are different names for allergies, from seasonal allergies to chronic rhinitus which is just year long allergies. If Allegra-D is working for you, there's no reason that your Dr shouldn't write you a new script for it.
I have year round allergies as well and my doctor prescribed me Zyrtec. I am pretty sure you can use Allegra in the same way.
I take the generic Allegra-D (because my insurance co. doesn't pay for the brand name) year round, on doctor's advice. I'm allergic to stuff indoors as well as outdoors, and taking the prescription year-round helps prevent sinus infections. Great stuff, isn't it?
I don't know that your Dr. will refill, but yes it does work all
seasons.
