Hives when drinking alcohol??
Question: I have drank for a years now and haven't had any reactions to alcohol, recently however when I have had a few beers or mixed drinks I have been experiencing hives on my traps and shoulders. I was wondering, why would something like this just start now? Also, would this just be an allergic reaction to the alcohol?
Answers: I didn't develop food allergies till high school..I'm 26 now, and I get a rash when I drink certain alcohol. I have tree allergies, and that includes soy, wheat and i'm sure hops for beer..you're probably developing an allergy. Be careful, because seriously one day I was eating an apple, the next week that same food made my throat almost swell shut..I didn't look for the signs that a food allergy was developing..such as the rashes and hives
Yes it is, also do you get red in the chest and face? You can develop a allergic reaction, sorry.
Might be a reaction to the wheat in beer and some of the different alcohols have wheat in them. You may react to it differently from wheat in food because it gets into you quicker.
