Can a person be allergic to lentils but not to peanuts??

Question: My daughter, 19 mths, broke out in a rash when she ate lentils, but has eaten peanut butter in the past and nothing occurred. I am aware that peanuts are a legume and was wondering if she may eventually develop an allergy to peanuts?
Answers: Absolutely possible. My 3 year old ate Peanut Butter cups w/o incident. We find out from a minimal taste of Rugulagh that she is allergic to tree nuts and peanuts. She's eaten other peanut products and been fine. Sometimes it's eating the raw product itself that will trigger the allergy. Not so with the Rugulagh (her most severe allergy is to the Cashew in this pastry)

Go to an allergist and have her tested for all nuts. If it happens again try to counteract the swelling with Benadryl. If it worsens and/or breathing problems arise, get her to the ER...she may have an allergy with anaphylaxis and this is very scary.
i would think so. my kid is allergic to eggs but can have stuff like bread cakes and even french toast where the egg is right there on the outside. its weird i don know.
lentils and peanut are both legumes, belong to same botanical family or group. This legumes have or containg different kinds of proteins in which the child do/dont show any allergic reaction. The proteins can be transformed or change in their chemical structure by heating like in egg (given example) that make these substances causing no complaints or illness.
