What's with these mysterious hives?? (a bit graphic)??

Question: I've always had quite an allergy problem. But, 3 days ago, My stomach started itching. I thought nothing of it, just that my pants were on to tight. Well, shortly after that my symptoms turned in more hayfever like. I had so much post nasal drip that I took off running up the stairs because it was causing me to gag. After throwing up from all the excess mucus. I took a look in the light, and saw hives all over my stomach. I went to the Pharmacy and picked up some benadryl. It helped stop the postal nasal drip.. but the hives still continue. If I dont take the benadryl atleast 2 or 3 times a day, the post nasal drip/hay fever symptoms start up again. Do people who are prone to hives typically exhibit hayfever symptoms with them? Or is it possible that hives is now going to be a new reaction that I have when I encounter my triggers.. dust, mold.. ect

Any help is appricated.
Answers: Sounds to me you might have found something new to be allergic to. You may need to check the pollen and mold reports to see if something was extremely high on those days. Did you change detergents recently? You may need to go see a dermatologist and get tested if your hives continue to be a problem. In certain areas of Texas, where I live, the pollen counts get extremely high on a certain tree pollen. When it does get real high it will cause me to break out into hives. You will probably have to do a little investigating to find the culprit but once you do find it you can be treated for it.
I hope you've seen a doctor about this. Hives could be the nervous reaction to the other symptoms. Have you eliminated or at least identified the culprit? Cats, carpets, dust, what have you...? See a specialist.
LET ME TELL YOU!!! I have had hives just like that every day for 6 months. I've never really had allergies, nor have I had hives until one day I began to itch on my stomach and arms. Then I realized it was hives. I started taking benadryl every 6 hours to keep them from coming. They also gave me more upper respiratory symptoms like wheezing, coughing, and throat swelling. One night I almost stopped breathing from my throat swelling so badly. I went to the allergist and they gave me Zyrtec once a day. I also take Zantac for the actually hives swelling. If i don't take them everyday I get hives. I have been hoping someone will figure out a way to cure them. There is no culprit...the docotr said urticaria usually has no external cause. It could just be your body overreacting with histimines. hope this helps!
I have chronic hives and the only medicine that works for me is Zyrtec, Benadryl will help for a few hours but the Zyrtec lasts for around 24.
My doctor said it will pass or I could go to a specialist.

I think Zyrtec is sold in Canada over the counter under a different name
Holy cow! Why haven't you seen a doctor yet? If you have allergies all the time, you should be on medication other than Benedryl that would make you tired. Zyrtec is the best for hives. Did you change detergents? Perhaps that is causing a topical reaction on your stomach. As for the throwing up from excess mucus, go see a doctor!!! You need to see someone as those symptoms are not good! -Good luck
