Allergic to Alcohol??
Question: Basically everytime I go out and have a alcoholic drink, I always end up with a really bad hangover the next day! Even if I only have 1 drink, and I dont get drunk, ill wake up the next day being sick and generally feeling like death.
I always vomit the next day but it never seems to be the drink or even food that I bring up, (Sorry I know this is graphic!) but Its always yellow bile that I vomit up.
I thought it might be vodka, so I changed my drink to Barcardi, and it still happened so I changed it again to Archers but its still happening now....
Anyone have any advice??? (Apart from 'Dont Drink'!
Answers: It is possible to have an allergy to alcohol.
You could try alcohol free drinks, some taste quite nice and at least if you're socailising you won't feel too out of place.
The link I have provided tells you all about the symptoms and cures etc. Good luck I hope this helps
yeah dont stop drinkin and never go to sleep thus eliminating the hangover and sobering up,
thank you please
Don't drink alcohol. Surely you can enjoy yourself without it. If you were on certain drugs, you couldn't drink. Maybe you should consider a taxi-ing service to make money from your sober state
try eating a good meal like pasta before you go out, it will absorb the booze and line you stomach!
you can get a test done to see if you are, ask your doctor about it and if you are i is more than likly that it's something that is in alcohol. hope that helps.
Since you already no you are allergic and you feel the need to drink that stuff anyway you should go see your doctor.
Alcoholism is not something anyone wants. If it is making you this and you still want to use this drug, then this is a sure sign of alcoholism.....
Sounds to me like something is wrong
do you drink with your m8s when you go out and how many
or is one of your friends spiking you..
you can go for an alergy test speak to your gp
my friend got tested for food allergies and along with the usual wheat and dairy she was given a list of alcohol to avoid. The only drinks she could drink was white wine and tequila. Maybe you could get a test from docs? When i was pregnant with my first kid i used to get hungover just being in a pub.
hey hi i am exactly the same i once passed out on white wine sauce, and generally always sick the next day with the yellow rank stuff.
You've got to get your body used to it so try having a drink or two in the evenings with sensible measures.
if it doesn't work the best thing to do is drink loads as you'll have the same hangover as if you only had 1 !
I thought my Allergy to SOAP was bad,
but damn, i feel sorry for you mate !!
btw - i really am allergic to soap ! lol
By best advice is go see a doc. However for some you feel that's not going to work out, stop drinking all together, or try something mildish like beer.
it would b aadvised to b tested 4 sugar diabesties.
Okay I won't try to say Don't drink. I too have this problem. I simply cannot tollerate most types of alcohol. Sometimes it is interference with medication that causes these types of problems, ie, don't have a drink with prescription painkillers! They intensify the alcohol and make it worse. Why don't you try something with a lower alcohol content, like beer or wine? Also, for the next morning, try drinking a little ginger ale right away to help settle the stomach.
You also might lay off the alcohol completely for about 6 months, then gradually introduce it to your system again, that might help. But you also need to realize that your body is rejecting it for a reason...and that you should listen to your body. Good luck with your problem.
What you are bringing up I think is the lining of your stomach. Your like my brother the same thing happens to him.
The only thing you can do is try different drinks for a while and see how you go. Have you tried any beer's. Oh and by the way if your going out drinking as much as you can pack into a night out that would explain why you die the following day. Maybe still water could be an option or train yourself to drink by having one more drink each night you go out. Get yourself into training and if your not from Ireland move there.
That‘s great! Finally found a companion, I have never had a drink
in my life and don‘t intend to. Welcome on board! A word of advice,
there will always be somebody putting a little something into your
drink, so little that perhaps you will not even notice. This little will
do the same harm as a full dose, so, only drink what you mix. Don‘t
accept a nice friend‘s gesture who kindly offers you a coca-cola.
Advice from one who knows your problem and has lived with it for
many years. Every time you feel like a drink, put a couple of coins
in a piggy-bank or whatever, and at the end of the year you will
surprised by the lovely present you can get yourself. Be happy,
that is the most important thing, and good health to you. Iain xxx
Hi.
As I said on the other place, Is it only when you go out? Just check that you are having D Coke and not D Pepsi with your drink.
This has happened to me quite a few times now and its always when they have gave me D Pepsi with my Vodka. Altho sometimes the mix is to strong in the D Coke dispenser and it will happen to me then as well, so i have to ask for bottle D Coke .
I get a hangover and diarrhea when I drink Brutal fruit, and the last time I took Smirnoff spin I vomited so I make sure I don't take those things anymore.
So for you it is quiet difficult. But you have to find something that will not make you sick, but sadly you have to undergo the same process of being sick. or you can try cocktails, some have minimal amount of alcohol.
If you don't want to feel that way Ill just advice that you don't take something alcoholic at all. there is no harm in taking soft drinks when you go out, after all it will be good for your health.
apart from dont drink i have no advice. maybe you have some sort of allergy to something in it. Try a good triple distilled Irish Whiskey which has nothing added and see then. Obviously limit yourself to one..............avoid using a mixture....use only mineral water in it if you have to. Make sure its triple distilled, then it is smooter.
By the wau I am a Pioneer myself...look it up on the web. Pioneer Total Abstinence of the Sacred Heart. You will be welcome to join us!! I for one then should not be encouraging you with the whiskey. The sad fact is though, that some people just cannot take alcohol for various reasons. Some because of the affects it has like you, ranging for sickness to driving them mad. You may have to bear this in mind. Its like some people are lactose intolerent, and some cant take wheat!! Seriously...think about that. If it still does not work for you, consider giving up for good.
Yes I can relate to that, try eating a good meal before drinking, also drink some water in beween drinking alcohol, sorry not sure what other advice, I have stopped for 4 weeks now, can have fun without it!
From the sounds of it grain alcohols bother you, and Bacardi is made from sugar cane, and that bothers you. So have you tried potato vodka, or perhaps wine?
stop drinking...if you have a problem with this, then you have more problems than just your hangovers...
I'm the same way, i know all about the yellow stuff the next day. Everynow and then i won't be hungover and it is usually because I ate A LOT after drinking. Lots of carbs. As long as you like tp drink, you'll probably have to pay the price the next day. My friend takes Chasers and she swears they help hangovers (she gets bad ones too). Maybe you should try those, iI think they sell them at Walgreens.
Hello, that sounds very similar to me.I dont drink anymore but when I used to,one bottle and I was wrecked! I went to get allergy tested and along with dust mite etc,I had a small intolerance to the E numbers(colourings) in alcohol. You know yourself that all drinks like bacardis, aftershock, fat frogs etc., come in mad colours, and it was the colourings that I was having a reaction to! Only allowed to drink gin, white wine etc.. ones with no colouring.
ry avoiding any coloured drinks for a while. You never know!
wow - I'm glad I'm not the only one. Yes, sometimes I develop a migraine within an hour of having my first (sometimes only) drink. Mostly its triggered by Southern comfort or whisky style drinks, but that's not a rule... and sometimes low alcohol tipples do the same thing. it doesn't seem to affect me as much these days. perhaps it improves over time
I used to take migraine meds out with me, and at the first sign of pain, id dose myself up. it helped a lot.
My fella learned to drink water before going to sleep, his hangovers were legendary before that
try both of the above with a take away ;-)
I always vomit the next day but it never seems to be the drink or even food that I bring up, (Sorry I know this is graphic!) but Its always yellow bile that I vomit up.
