My doctor put me on Prednisone??

Question: But now my doctor has taken me off of it because she says it's not good for your immune system but it's the only thing that has worked on getting my eyes to unswell. What should I do? My eyes will not stop swelling and I am tired of walking around looking like I never get any sleep. I always seem to get my eyes down but they come back.
Answers: I would suggest seeing an allergist.
The other option I would suggest is seeing an acupuncturist.
I used to have allergies and was taking several drugs (claritin, rhinokort, zyrtec) , but after a few acupuncture treatments I was completely off the meds. So now I go maybe once a year for a tuneup treatment. Plus no side effects with acupuncture.

Find a good one if you can. If you live near NYC I can recommend some for you.
COULD BE ALLERGY RELATED
Prednisone may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
* difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep.
* bulging eyes.
Please see the web pages for more details on Prednisone.
Taking Prednisone long term is really bad for you, weight gain/swelling, thin papery skin are just a couple of side effects. Try cold compresses for your eyes which will reduce puffiness and feel good on puffy, itchy eyes.
