Earring Allergies...??
Question: I can't wear any earrings, I got my ears pirced when I was 6 months old, they've never got infected before, but I got my ears repirced because the ones I got at 6months were too high up,but my newest ones closed up so I went back to my old ones, now they get infected with every earring I wear, I've tried gold, hypoallergenic, and when I take them out they're infected and hurt.

The way I see it if something is not real then dont even try to offer me fake ear rings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
try sterling silver (the surgical kind most piercing places use) - the rest likely contain nickel
don't were earing:)
duhhh
I had my ears pierced when I was 12. I used to be able to wear earrings, but now they get infected whenever I even get near my ear with an earring. I have actually had the best luck with cheap earrings, they hurt less then the hypoallergenic, gold and silver ones.
can you wear metal anywhere on your body no gold or silver? they also make nickle free earrings do you clean your earrings do you take them out so they are not in 24 hours?
I can only wear sterling silver, the good fine jewelry kind. When I tell people this they think I'm being prissy, but it is a health issue. My ear lobes turn red and itch until I could go insane if I wear anything else.
Neosporine and hydrogen peroxide will ease the itch and sting. Do not wear anything until it clears up, even if you risk closing the holes again.
I also wore earrings all my life and now I can't for the same reason. I just don't wear them anymore unless for a few hours, for a special event.
Piercing Parlors use (or should use) Stainless steel. I ran into the same problem and found that the stainless steel was all I could wear.. good luck
I am allergic to everything except sterling silver. For some reason that is the ONLY thing I can wear in my ears. Have you tried that?
The two most common metals that people are allergic to is nickel and chromium. White gold contains nickel and surgical steel contains chromium and a tiny amout of nickel. If you want a alloy that you won't be allergic too, go with titanium. Titanium has replaced stainless steel in surgeries. I have a titanium ring and it looks awesome.

I had problems when I was younger with infections/soreness when I wore earrings. I could not wear the fashion earrings. I did discover, for a short time, I could wear the hanging kind. If I wore a pair that was plastered right up against my ear it would get sore and infected very quickly. I think that was because of lack of air circulating and your body oils and sweat build up and cause the infection. Remember bodies are always changing and what was once OK might not work now. Clear up the infection first. Re-pierce if necessary, do not put in new earring until the piercing is completely healed and try wearing different earring for a shorter periods
like the girl on top of me,just dont wear any earrings, lol duhh =p
i cannot wear real earings only the fake one
Go to your doctor and see what he has to say. If he says that wearing them are fine as long as you clean them good, then its fine!
