Doc said the dark circles under my eyes indicate my sinus infections are from something inhaled? Does anyone??
Question: Do any of you know what it could be or have you been told this or even heard of this.
Answers: I have had circles under my eyes for a long time, even when it's not allergy season. I think it could come from genetics, allergies, lack of oxygen (as in asthma or bronchitis &/or sinusitis, or congestion etc.), lack of quality sleep (maybe even from the previously mentioned conditions or apnea or snoring).
If your doctor thinks yours is from something inhaled, could it be the pollen, mold and mildew, or some other agent (allergy or non-allergy related) in your environment that is causing you to have problems with your getting sufficient REM sleep or breathing? I've heard of one person who kept getting headaches, and it turned out to be fumes from a room that had been painted at some point in time.
So just try to think of everything that you've been exposed to... Do you have any windows open at any time or walk outside at any time or moldy mildewy things around you? Are you ever exposed to any fumes (even the kind you can't detect) of any sort or cigarrette smoke? Do you have breathing problems associated with your sinus infections?
I have been diagnosed with sinusitis and bronchitis and rhinitis and sinus infections and bronchial asthma and asthmatic bronchitis so many times, doctors stopped giving me antibiotics and started me on allergy pills and albuterol. But the circles, I don't know if they are specifically from something inhaled, especially if one has them year round. I have heard circles around the eyes CAN come from allergies. Not that they absolutely do in every given situation.
Also another tidbit: I think some medications can cause sinus infections, so it's not always something inhaled. The doctor should have mentioned that the circles may be a different symptom of something else too that's unrelated to your sinus infections. I would think if you are having breathing problems, that it is maybe possibly, but not necesarrily from something inhaled.
Was this an allergist specialist or a regular doctor? Not every case is the same exact thing.
your doctor is a quack. Those circles are from not getting enough sleep.
Cocaine
Yes...I have allergies and over here the pollen count is record high. I have had dark ciricles since the beginning of spring. You probably have inhaled pollen. Ask your doctor about Zyrtec and Cingulair...they really help me!
As for sinus infection....allergies can spawn such things. I woke up this morning with cold-like symptoms...Your doctor is absolutely right.
Hope ya feel betr!!
Let me get this right, you were talking to the Doctor, he gave you information, you had questions and rushed home to ask Yahoo Answers. Smacks you in forehead..... you could have had a V8.
did he/she not tell you what???=that sounds strange to me=I get sinus flare-ups every so often and I dont get black under my eyes=get a second opinion=you could be lacking in iron or a vitamin

NO DARK CIRCLES UNDER YOUR EYES MEANS THAT YOU DIDN''T GET A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP.
COMMON SENSE
You may have allergic shiners . These are dark circles that tend to be caused by an allergic reaction.
There are other reasons for dark circles, as mentioned,(genetic, etc.) but most likely this is what your doctor was getting at. It sounds like you may have seasonal allergies.
