Answers: Chicken soup and vitimin c and rest

oranges
Chicken noodle soup with lots of fresh ground pepper. I heard that eating spicy foods also helps.
Stay away from dairy products. They are mucus-formers.
Chicken soup is known as Yiddish penicillin , for good reason.
You could try jalapenos or hot chili to break up mucus.
Nothing really can get you over a cold faster its a virus and has to run its course.....however you can eat a good supply of vitamin C containing foods or just take a suplement. Vitamin C helps you fight off colds. Foods contaning a fair amount of vit C :
Oranges
Broccoli
Papaya or mangos
red yellow and orange peppers ...they have more than green
kohlrabi and jicama
Kiwi fruit
Zinc can also help
oysters 11.25 mg / 100 g
T-bone steak (broiled) 4.45 mg / 100 g
chicken breast (roasted) 1.02 mg / 100 g
wheat germ 12.29 mg / 100 g
FRESH CHILLY HEAPS OF VITAMIN C
Since a cold is a virus there really isn't much you can do, but let it run its course. There was an old saying that you starve a cold and feed a fever. Don't think that holds true.
But the best thing to do is drink lots and lots of water. A healthy adult should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. When you are sick you should drink at least 10.
Hot soup is good not because of the soup itself but because of the steam ( it can help with nasal stuffiness).
So I would say when you are faced with a cold to get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water and take OTC (over the counter) meds to relieve any specific symptoms.
Hope you feel better!
garlic
First you need to drink a lot of water and orange juice. The vitamin C will help build up your immunity and get the toxins out. As for eating, chicken noodle soup is always a good standby. If your throat is really sore and the noodles or pieces of chicken agitate it, chicken broth is a good second choice.
