Is it medically possible??

Question: I suffer from an allergy to chocolate.

What's seriously disturbing is that I only recently formed this allergy.

It's been more than 3 or 4 years. I still don't know why.

I'm 19 years old.
Answers: I've seen both:

developing allergies when you haven't before ( I never had problems with season allergies until I turned 35 years old), and

no longer being allergic to something you were ( my daughter was allergic to eggs for quite a while, now they don't bother her).

I can't explain why, but it is apparently possible!
Yes, it is possible. I was never allergic to Oak before. But now my eyes swell and water, and it effects my throat too!
It is medically understandable when you know that the chocolate industry was permitted by the FDA to substitute a percentage of real cocoa with some chemically man-made substitute. Combine that with the fact that many of our food sources have preservatives and additives that are not natural to our bodies seem to have given allergies a boost especially in this country. It is almost impossible to get pure food nowadays unless you go to a reputable health food store and try organic chocolate. Whole Foods carry them (5.95) or more for a box. It would be prudent to have liquid Benedryl nearby before trying this as allergens seems to stay in the system a long time. I tried this with shrimp after a year pass in order to confirm that I was still allergic to it, and I had both friends and Benedryl nearby.
I have the same prob. I've eaten eggs, tomatoes, and beef my whole life. I was diagnosed with a kindof rare allergic disorder (EE) so they had to figure out what foods I was allergic to. Lo and behold! Eggs, tomatoes, and beef. Now, when I eat any of those things, I can't breathe, my throat swells up........
Apparently, allergies can be aquired. You can become allergic to something. I am so sorry that you are allergic to chocolate. I can handle no eggs, tomatoes and beef, but no chocolate.......wow. That's rough!
