Allergic reaction help! I just started taking Bactrim yesterday and am having a reaction to it.??

Question: This night, I took my third pill. My skin is extremely itchy and starting to swell. My eyes are itchy. I also take Ritalin and Metadate CD. Would any of these affect the other? What is the best course of action to take? My doctor isn't on call tonight!
Answers: i would go to the hospital with the med your taking
even if its a wasted trip its better safe then sorry
Do not take any more bactrim. You could take benadryl for the itching. If you get worse, go to the emergency room asap.
Stop taking the antibiotic and see your doctor or another doctor first thing in the morning. If it becomes difficult to breath or the swelling becomes severe you need to call 911 or go to the emergency room. You may want to consider taking some over the counter benadryl right now.
Yup, that would be an allergic reaction. Do not take any more doses. If your doc does not have a partner on call, then go to immediate care or the ER. There they can treat you. When your skin starts to swell, other things can start to swell as well. Like your throat. So either call your docs partner that is on call, or go seek medical attention. Hang in there!!!!
i would go to the ER...just to be safe...my uncle had an allergic reaction with bactrim...doctors told him the sulfur in the bactrim had reacted to iodine in his system..he had seafood gumbo the weekend he started the antibiotic...he was real sick for bout a week becuz of it. hope u feel better soon.
