Without removing my carpets what are ways to reduce allergens in the home??

Question: do air purifiers work?
Answers: Air Purifier, Shampoo your Rugs atleast every other month, use a dehumidifier to prevent groth of certain types of mold.
get a really good filter for your furnace.
buy a kirby!
Get house plants! Lots of em.
you could try a special sweeper that reduces them. plus put filters inside of your air vents
Yes they do, but you really should do your home work on them. A filter type is actually inefficient. Ionic breeze is about the best one I ever bought. It works with water, and it takes alot of things out of the air. Also, change the filters in your vacuum regularly. If you have pets, bathe them often. And eliminate flowers from your yard that have a high pollen count. shampoo your carpets every 60 days with an allergin reducer cleaner. They work pretty good. Also use Lysol regularly, it kills all sorts of germs and mildew and mold.
THEY claim they work I would disagree......you didn't say where you live or what the allergins were, if it is outside driven you are out of luck and would be best off getting a shot from doc, if they are from within and you suspect the carpet in my own experience, nothing worked, sorry. I had it ripped up, then got tested and found out it was mold, and nothing will fix that other than removing the carpet and replacing it with anything (tile, wood, cork) that won't conduct mold......good luck.
try the new fabreeze = suppose to reduce allergans, dust mites, etc ~ Air purifiers can be costly ~
Vacuum daily with a hepa filter vac, air purifiers, dust all the time, special allergy sheets and pillows to protect from dust mites...get a house cleaner to come in and help once a week...Other people who don't live in your house can see things you don't
I do not have allergies, but I needed a new vacuum cleaner. I have a Labrador who lives, eats and sleeps with me so I am lucky insofar as I have mock PVC wood lino and a wood floor in my bedroom. I also have Psoriasis, which kinda flakes everywhere. The living room is carpeted and has a underlay. The first thing I did, 'sealed' the concrete floors, as concrete tends to 'dust' with age. The new vacuum cleaner, well they are all double dutch to me and range in price. However I had heard about these HEPA filters and they have them for Dogs and other cleaners state dog hairs, so I purchased a cheap upright model that stated HEPA filter Dog Hairs. I am not joking, I filled up the cylinder dust container five times just vacuuming the living room and the HEPA Filter, well it went in white, came out kinda Black! I had to clean the filter washed it, waited for it to dry and then vacuumed the living room again and again. Now I can vacuum the other rooms and HEPA filter and dust bowl is never full. I have to be honest, I only wish they had invented this HEPA filter system when I moved in to this house. I am now thinking of investing in a more expensive version, that is how impressed I am. Moreover the stale odors gone!
A hepa air filter.
Air purifiers do work, but you have to be sure to change or clean the filter on a regular basis.
Dust using a wet dust cleaner like Pledge (allergens will adhere to it)
Use a high powered vacuum with a HEPA filter. Vacuum your carpets several times a week.
Clean your drapes and linens every week in hot water. Use pillow covers in addition to pillow cases.
Clean/dust/vacuum your sofas weekly. Use Febreeze Allergen reducer to help reduce the allergens in the air.

Finally, steam clean your carpet every 3-4 months to really keep it all down.
