What is the treatment for red, itchy swelling?Complementary medicine suggestions will also be appreciated.??
Question: I get subdermal swellings every few days. Mostly non-itchy and a little warm to touch and no rashes. Looks more like angioedema. But today I have a swelling in the left palm and a little reddish and itchy. Had many tests incluing CAT scan of the torso. Any one recognize my sysmptoms?
Answers: try hydrocortizone its an anti-inflammitory so it stops redness and swelling and it also stops the itch
Red, itchy swelling of the skin can be a number of reason:
> You could have atopic dermatitis or pruritic skin. Meaning, your skin is reacting defensively probably if you have allergies (which looks like it bec. you have it every few days) or infection (w/c is not for you bec. infections usually disappears when treated).
> So maybe, you are asthmatic and usually asthmatics have skin reactions first. Best to take antiallergic or antipruritic creams like Elidel.
> Elidel is the only nonsteroidal cream available, the rest are steroidal creams.
> You can still use steroid creams but sparingly and not more than 3 days.
> Best to consult doctor for the cause of red, itchy swelling.
> And if you are indeed asthmatic, supplement antiallergic creams with lots of hypoallergenic moisturizers or hypoallergeinc lotions.
>Dermatologists are best to consult.
try tea tree oil. works well. but mostly go see Doctor.
