Allergies and babies??

Question: My aunt just had a baby this morning. I've been having allergies (stuffy nose, sneezing) and we want to go see her and the baby in the hospital. can i make the baby or my aunt sick?
Answers: Having allergies is not contagious. But since the baby is so young...just a newborn, please make sure that it is indeed just allergies. Handling a newborn when you have a cold is not a good idea.
If what you have is truly an allergy, no. They are not contagious. To be on the safe side, however, have the hospital staff give you a mask to wear when you get there.
You can't make anyone sick with allergies..
Now if you have a cold then you should not visit her today..
