Why do we need to sleep??

Sleep is to let the body rest, so it doesn't get over worked. Notice that if you stay up for a long time, you tend to get sleepy its because your body is tired and wants to rest. Also, when you yawn your eyes get watery, that means your eyes want to close.

Human bodies need time for regeration after a day's work. When we work, there is a lot of wear and tear of muscles and other organs. The brain also consumes a lot of Oxygen and requires replenishment for repairing neurons. Similarly, skin cells and other cells in the body like white blood corpuscles are also replenished. Just imagine, if we didn't rest and sleep, we would die a lot earlier.
Sleep gives your body a rest and allows it to prepare for the next day. It's like giving your body a mini-vacation. Sleep also gives your brain a chance to sort things out. Skipping one night's sleep makes a person cranky and clumsy.
Because without sleep we would go crazy and fall into deep depression. Our body needs that time to itself.
So your sanity gets a break!
