What causes one pupil to dialate while the other is normal, im not on drugs and havnt used eye drops??

Question: only one of my eyes will dialate and i cant feel it or i dont have unusual sensations because of it, people have pointed it out to me and now it is scareing me, please help.
Answers: It's called anisocoria. It can be completely normal. Or you could have glaucoma, a tumor, or some type of poisoning. See your eyedoctor.

----
* Simple anisocoria

o Simple anisocoria may be found in up to 20% of the general population and may vary from day to day in the same individual.

o In most patients, the degree of anisocoria is less than 1 mm, and no ptosis, dilation lag, or vasomotor dysfunction is present.

o In some patients, simple anisocoria may be provoked by oral medications (eg, pseudoephedrine, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors).

o Instillation of 4-10% cocaine solution causes dilation of both eyes.

o Old photographs, sometimes from drivers' licenses, can provide evidence that the anisocoria has been present for some time.
