Does Atkins Diet really work??


Answers: This diet does work for some people but it is not healthy. It does damage to kidneys and heart. Also has embarrassing side effects such as excess gas. You should consider a well balanced diet. Maybe look into reducing your calorie intake and doing some exercise.
I think it works for some folks, just like weight watchers, slim-fast, and other diets work for others. It seems to allow more of the foods a lot of folks tend to like, so that may be why some people have a lot of success with it.

I think if you minimize your calories, avoid fats, eat well balanced meals 3 times a day, don't snack between meals and get some exercise, you'll do just as well.
You can loose weight on it, but it is really unhealthy. It is better to stay away from fad diets and loose weight naturally by eating well balanced meals, avoiding junk food, getting plenty of exercise -- common sense stuff. If you are determined to diet, try Ornish or McDougall. They emphasize healthy foods.
