People have told me that popping pimples on your face or pulling eyebrows can actually KILL you! Is that true??
Answers: The answer by RUkidding is correct. There exists an area of the face that includes the brow and the nose, as I remember it from a certain anatomy book, called the Danger Triangle of the Face. There are meningeal veins that share drainage from the triangle and the meninges of the brain. I don't know about pulling eyebrows, but for certain popping zits. If you should be the unlucky one who pops zits and seeds bacteria into this circulation a deadly brain infection can result. It does not mean it is going to happen, so people saying they are still here is no argument. It is possible to happen and that you can take to the bank.
Humm.. possibly. I know if you sneeze a noodle out your nose, you'll have diareaha for a week.
If it could, I'd be dead now.
Absolutely not...don't listen to them.
no
No, there is no way a few pores could shut down your entire body.
The only way this would be possible is if the person had some really rare disease. (perhaps hemophilia)
I suppose if you had an antibiotic resistant strain of staph on your fingers when you popped the zit, there's a chance you could end up with an infection that could kill you. But that seems pretty farfetched. As for tweezing eyebrows, well I'm not dead yet...
Well, I've heard the thing about the pimples. My mother was a nurse and she used to call pimples in a triangle around the face as the Triangle of Death. Apparently, if you popped one of these, bacteria could go up to the brain or something like that, and kill you. I've popped many a pimple in my day and they tended to be around the nose, and I'm still here.
