What should you use after getting sunburned??
Question: The other day I got a really bad sunburn while I was at a baseball game. What can you use on your scalp after its been sunburned because my scalp, arms, face, and chest were burned. Plz tell me what to use on my skin.
Answers: The type of sunburn I refer to here is the type or level where tapping the victim on the shoulder is absolute agony or where your bedsheets hurt so much you cant sleep.Aloe vera in a bottle is fine but!!!!!Aloe vera in a plant, many of us have them.Cut two inches from the leaf ,slice down the middle and rub down gently on the burn in a straight line ,you will notice that you are still burning on both sides of the part you have just applied the aloe vera to but where you applied is pain free almost instantly.By doing one patch/line first it shows you,the disbeliever, how good it is.After you have done all the affected areas you can use P.A.B.A.(para amino benzoic acid)in tablet form.In England chemists dont seem to sell it but Holland & barrett do as will other health food outlets.I would take one tablet of paba for mild burn and if it doesnt go down in terms of pain I take more till it reduces to the point I can cope.My family have used this for 40 years without adverse effects. If in doubt ask the people in the health food shop,If you ask doctors about it they tend not to be pleased(my expreience but enlightenment is available free on the N.H.S.) because they havent prescribed it,please let me know it workedP.S. this is not a licence to burn ,if you allow your children to burn you are abusing them, sounds harsh but its true
Aloe is really helpful- it'll keep you from peeling so bad.
Aloe Vera gel, especially the purple kind with the tea tree oil in it.
I KNOW THIS SOUNDS CRAZY BUT IT IS A OLE FASION REMEBY BROWN VINGAR WORKS AND IT WILL TAKE THE STING OUT. AND IT WON'T PEEEL SO MUCH OR BLISTER.
Try looking for an aloe after-sun gel that contains lidocain (mild pain med). If you don't want to peel, slather that stuff on everytime it dries on you,at least 3-4 times daily. It'll help alot and get that burn down. Just be careful if you have any blisters that pop. Ooowies!
Put on some kind of moisturiser as the skin will have got very dried out. use a very mild, unscented one. Aloe vera gel works especially well. You should also make sure you drink lots of water to replace lost fluids and try to avoid exposing any burned areas to the sun again until they've properly healed
Cocoa butter or white soft parafin BP. It'll ease the peeling. Next time out, remember a hat and sun block!
Wolfelady is correct on the apple cider vinegar. Use the vinegar on your scalp and use aloe (pure aloe without additives) or Noxzema on your arms, face and chest.
