My 8 year old son throws up a lot, what could be causing this??

Question: It happens about two to three times every month, I think it may be dehydration but am not sure. He is very skinny, he only weighs 71 lbs but he is also, 4' 9 .
Answers: Plese have a Dr. or pediatrician check him out immediately. The vomiting itsel can cause dehydration. As others have said there could be any number of things that can cause a child to vomit like that. Have your Dr. do a complete blood workup on him, including looking for proper electrolyte balances of chemicals in bodies. If necessary take him to a gastrenterologist and have him put to sleep and have him check out his esophagus and stomach and possibly his colon. Plus have work to find any infections or viruses and types of food poisonindMight have an allergist test him too and a test 9blood work can show whether or not he has celiac disease or sprue. Don't wait and good luck
Uhhhh...A DOCTOR might know.
You're cooking ?????
Acid reflux disease
he might have the stomach Flo or ate something that he cant hold down. you should take him 2 the doc. & see if it is the stomach flo or u can give him some medison.
It could be something he ate. Food poisoning is common and causes vomoting. I dont think its anything bad but just check with a doc just to be satisfied.
test his allergies.get him tested for bacteria in his stomach.make sure he is getting plenty of fluids and take in for a check up because it is not normal to be throwing up that often.
This needs to be checked immediately by a professional. See your doctor. Could be serious.
Sounds like a trip to the doctor is in order. Could be a number of reasons. Amateurs like us cannot make the diagnois.
I am 4'9. I weigh 70 lbs. I have anemia. That could be it. Or it could be anorexia nervosa. It could be a lot of things. Take your son to a doctor. A board certified licensed family practitioner. Have his hemoglobin and hematocrit tested. Also, ask about the possibility of anorexia or bulimia. It is not too young for him to be at risk for this.

It could be something like sprue or tropical sprue. You didn't say what area of the country you live in. It sounds serious to me. I wouldn't wait or rely on the internet for information.

If he is 8 he isn't too far below the norm for an 8 year old, but it would take a physician to find out. Don't rely on the internet for this one.

It may be nothing serious at all, but then again it might.

You need medical information. The internet isn't bad for information, but you need reliable medical help.
