Do you need a license to have a senior care business in nevada??
Question: i am a caregiver looking to open my own facility here in nevada.. i need to know if i need a license
Answers: I don't live in Nevada, but noticed you hadn't yet received any responses. You really need to talk to someone in the Nevada Department of Business and Indusry (links in Source(s) below).
Most states require all businesses to use a business license. This is how they regulate, track, and tax business activities. Each state has different laws governing whether certain types of businesses require additional licenses. When you talk to the Dept. of Business and Industry, be sure to describe the type of business you want to open. They should be able to either tell you whether you require a separate senior care license or can direct you to the government office that covers that type of license. There may be a different license if you're an in-home individual caregiver or opening a facility.
You will also want to discuss where you intend to locate your business. There may be zoning restrictions that you need to consider.
Look in the phone book or on the Internet for local non-profits that support start-up business owners. I don't know if there are any in your area, but you may find assistance or counseling on how to start your business there. If you have a local SCORE office, they are the Service Corps of Retired Executives, and offer free help to business owners. They're associated with the SBA.
