How do you get rid of bad habits??

Question: biting your fingernails, chewing in things?
Answers: When I stopped biting my fingernails, I just put nail polish on them because then everytime I looked at them I would remember and nail polish tasted nasty. If you're a guy, then that doesn't really help, but I've heard that if you don't do something for 21 days then you've broken the habit.
Buy a new nun costume.
concentrate on not doing it anymore
Change the subject when you'll feel like you wanna do it.
I use to be real bad with biting my nails till I woirked in a mechanics yard and spent most of the day with oil and grease all over my hands from the engines, thats how I stopped, smear some nasty sh*t on your nails and I gaurantee you wont want them anywhere near your mouth
try just chewing gum intead of your nails...frankly i have the same bad habit and it would be cool if you told me the best way.
Try replacing the old habit with a new one which is more healthy for you.
retraining your brain takes 3 months plenty of will power is needed.
Replace it with a good habit.
one at a time...start new good habits the same way.
Substitute a replacement behavior (chewing gum, clicking a pen, counting to 100). If you do this for 21 days in a row, usually that is enough to eliminate the bad habit.
get a chew toy!!!!it worked for my friend dillon!!!
You try to avoid doing them.
if u bite your fingernails then just think of how bad they look when u bite them and it will help you stop and as for chewing on pencils, etc just look how unprofessional it makes u look and that will help u stop
i am actually working on not bighting my nails right now! all you have to do is tell yourself how happy you'll be when its broken. and a medical fact, it takes 21 days to break a habit. after that, yeah!!!! go for it!
