What has brought you the most joy this year??
Answers: Having my son and daughter-in-law hand us an ultrasound picture of our grandchild-to-be brought me incrditable joy on the same day my Oncologist officially proclaimed me a survivor! (cancer free-11 years and Nonna-to-be in September!)
Getting engaged!!!
I quit the abusive job situation I have been in for over ten years!
Have slept better in the last two weeks than in the last five years.
my wife
The thing that has brought me the most joy this year so far is that my husband of 11 years came back home to me after almost a year apart, to try to make our marriage work. He also decided to attend couples therapy with me, stopped drinking and sought help for his bipolar/depression. He realized that he made some mistakes in the past and decided that it wasn't worth losing me and his son, so he wants to make a better life with us!:) I was overjoyed the day he moved back home:)! God gives us tests to work on our love, and we were given a second chance at making it work and fixing the mistakes we had made in the past! I am truly hoping that the second time will be the best time!:)
This year has been the happiest of my entire life so I am a little surprised to see your question about the joy of my past year. :^) This year has been my best because for the first time in my life have lived for myself. From the time I can remember, I've been taking care of everyone else starting when I was child taking care of my disabled family. It continued through my years in school. All of my friends were people who's parents had abondoned them in some way(alcoholics, abusers, etc). I was their surrogate parent. Since school it has been pretty much the same situation; my friends had poor upbringings and they needed a parent figure to complete maturation. In the past year I finally decided it was time for me. I am reliving my childhood and teenage years(in a reasonable way). I'm the happiest I've ever been. :^)
