Anyone suffer from bipolar disorder??

Question: and do u run mania or the depressed side more and what do you like or dont like about it
Answers: I am bipolar, bipolar II. Before my current medications, I mostly had depressive episodes. Probable about 85% of mine was depression accompanied by anxiety, anger, confusion, poor memory, low productivity, loss of sleep. Seldom did I feel normal and when I did it didn't last very long. There was nothing I liked about it. Nothing at all. I am single so I have no spouse to be concerned with. I know that my co-workers were avoiding me. No one knew when or what might set of a new episode.

I am being treated now, and life is good. Not GRRREAT, but pretty good.

Contact me if you want more information.

Sincerely,
Terry

Yes, lots of people suffer bi-polar.
I think so because I wanna knock people out 1 minute then I wanna laugh and be silly the next. Is that bi polar or what ever??
I think that I inherited some of the symptoms of the disorder from my father, who was clinically diagnosed. I don't know if it's possible that I have it as well, or if I just have some learned behaviors that I picked up from him.

It really bothers me when I get caught in a down mood when I'm out trying to have fun. I've been working to overcome it, though. I believe in the power of mind over body, and can usually pull myself around if I'm conscious of the fact that I'm slipping into one of those modes.

I don't think that there is really anything to like about it. They say that it could be responsible for my urge to always finish what I start, but I've found that good old fashioned laziness overrides that one when I'm not to particularly fond of the task. So that trait doesn't really help me when I need it.
i've had bipolar disorder many yrs.; i guess my has run about 2/3 mania and one -third depressed; sometimes FAIRLY normal it seems; i take Zyprexa--only 2.5 mg. and it helps my anxiety a little; i probably need 5 mg. per day but afraid i'll get diabetees if i take more; my doc knows i only take half of 5 mg. tablet; i cut it with pill cutter---you can purcase at low cost 2 or $ 3.00 at pharmacy. Zyprexa comes in a dosage of 2.5 mg. also; it seems that lots of persons are becoming a Diabetic who are on it; Zyprexa is approved for use for Schzrophrenics and Bipolar disorder--for Manic phase; i think it might help depressioon just a small amount in my case; i've been on it several yrs.; gained 20 lbs in all. It causes me to need TOO many hours sleep daily; about 12 to 16; but i've been sleeping less (but enough) since i have become to Yahoo answers; i now sleep about 6 or 7 hrs. but that's NOT ENOUGH-SINCE I'M ON ZYPREXA--AND WHEN I don't get enough sleep due to baby-sit my granchildren -part-time - It's hard for me to get ALIVE EA. DAY--TAKES A FEW HOURS!! FEEL SO WEAK. i'M ADDICTED TO Mountain Dew, too; l ol; I not diabetic yet; hope i don't get that. best wishes. ; note; i didn't like it when i was younger & looked better--that persons COULD NOT TELL that i was disabled; but one can sure tell it now; i was diagnosed with it bout 17 yrs. ago; 50 Plus now; i'm a lady.
I suffered from it for years before I was diagnosed. I am mostly manic with periodic episodes of depression. The meds im on (carbamazepine and wellbutrin xl) work wonders. It took a few tries to get on the right meds and now things are good.

A lot more people are bp than is realized. Its a social phobia that makes people without this disorder think bp people are crazy. its just the opposite of what people think.
