How do I treat my severe depression and anxiety without expensive drugs??

Answers: Medication has helped me for several years, but it's not a cure all and I find that every so often I must change. St John's Wort has only proven effective for mild cases.
I have a strong genetic component so I know it's not all about me . Most pharm companies have a way to get meds for free if u can't afford them(via their web sites); but I would caution you about going to a dr who just wants to give u a script and that's all. Cognitive theraphy has helped and discussing the state of the art on things and treatements has been great.
Some day they will have a better way to deal with it , but I have to say it's better than what my dad went through....Whatever u do, please don't wait..
The best way to reduce ur tention and anixity is the prayer, Pray to God, for ur problems, and be free when hand over ur problem the Almighty. Becoz only more powerfull can help us out. So dont be shy and belive in God, and ask him for ur every need and problem. God almighty help u.
Do not go with man-made synthetic drugs. Choose a product that consists of all natural supplements.

A product with St. Johns Wort has helped my mood swings and depression for 8 years. Be patient, it could take a couple of weeks to get in your bloodstream. Try 300mg in the morning and 300mg in the early afternoon.
Go to a psychiatrist. If you are really interested in treating your depression/anxiety, you need to find yourself a psychiatrist you can trust and you can talk to. DON'T rely on prayer and i would recommend not using St. John's Wort or any other natural supplement. Depression/anxiety do have biological components and if you have had them for a long time, they may be difficult to treat. and having a doctor, a psychiatrist and not just a primary care physican, can be very helpful if you feel comfortable with them.

as for actually purchasing them, while many meds doctors tend prescribe are the newer SSRIs, there are some older ones that you can buy in generic form and are still very effective, like celexa, prozac, trazodone etc. Talk to your doctor, tell him/her what you want and what you are looking for. Also, Candadian drugs are equally good and WAY less expensive. I've bought some and am very happy.

Lastly, give yourself time. If you do decide to take meds, it will take at least a month fo ryou to feel any effect. If one doesn't work, your doctor should help you find another one or add one. Don't give up. and its also important to go to therapy...and yes, at this point you can pray if you wish. Depression/anxiety is a biological disease-if you were suffering from seizures, you would take medication to help you with them. you wouldn't just pray for the seizures to go away.
St. Johns Wort is very good but you need to get advice from your doctor if you are pregnant and it also affects the pill. Also check with a homeopathic doctor to make sure it's ok alongside other prescribed drugs.
