I have severe Obsessive compulsive personality disorder and depression. How should i treat the personality??
Question: i am treating the depression but the root cause of my depression is the OCPD. what should i do to treat THAT?
Answers: Assuming you mean OCPD and not OCD (as they are distinct diagnoses), there is no real treatment for the personality disorder, however your specialist should be able to advise you on how to deal with the effects so that you are able to focus on overcoming your other problems and maintaining a healthy and happy life
I would take it out for cake and ice cream.
My therapist just gave me a great book, Changing for Good . It is based on studying people who have changed themselves. It shows what the stages of change are and tells how to move from one stage to another.
You can get it through Bookfinder.
This is a question your Doctor should answer call him good luck
You could try talking with a behavior psychologist/therapist. Hope you are able to find help soon.
You should go see a psychologist and/or psychiatrist. You will probably need psychotherapy.
These are books about OCD self help and they are some of the best books available:
- Stop Obsessing. Foa. 2001 (User friendly, written by luminaries on the field. Self help suggestions are concrete and easy to implement.)
- OCD: Getting Control. Baier 2000
But I strongly recommend seeing a doctor about OCD and using the books together. You can have better results if you do both instead of just reading the books.
go get treatment. or try web md.
