Does someone with psychosis know that they have a mental disorder??

Answers: i have bipolar disorder, and my manic episodes are so severe that when i had my first one, i went into the hospital and was diagnosed with psychosis. i was definetely aware something was wrong, but i did not know it was psychosis. but i also have never heard of someone who has prolonged psychosis, because it is obvious when you have it, and if anyone cares about you at all, they will seek medical attention for you, you are declared incompetent(even if it is only temporarily) and you are given medication.
They may know it on the inside, but may not know how to express to others that they know.
Some do and that is certainly part of the treatment program. To try to reinterduce reality...
some do, some dont, it depends on the person. in reality yes they might, but have no means of letting you know, which can be very frustrating for them, in others it may simply be neglect of the brain functions, or just plain denile.
Well everyone is different and we all can have a phase of these symptoms whether we know it or not. Some of the symptoms are as small as mood swings and temper tantrums. Some people know that they have it like people with bipolar disorder.
