What should I do in my situation??

Question: my wife truly believes someone purposedly installed spyware on our computer to monitor her daily activities (only her activities). However, we all know that it is not true....I know there is a problem in her head, but what can I do to tell her that there is no such thing? She also believes there is nothing wrong with her. This is driving me nuts....
Answers: WARNING: Anyone with an assumed mental condition should first see a competent, non-psychiatric physician to ensure that an undiagnosed, untreated PHYSICAL condition is not causing psychiatric symptoms. Such care can save a person from being subjected to the abusive and damaging treatments rendered by psychiatrists.

PS. I am absolutely disgusted by some of the above replies - how quick so many people are to judge that someone is ill or deluded by a short Yahoo Answer question. It's absolutely ridiculous. And to the poster that linked to Schizophrenia.com I defy you to find anything more atrocious than this segment: ...if the person who has schizophrenia is over the legal age (typically 19 years old), families or friends -- after trying every possible method to get help for their family member -- may end up lying and just saying that the family member is suicidal, or has attempted to harm others. This satisfies the legal requirements that a person is a danger to self or others and can be treated involuntarily. * Sick.

If you talk to God, you are praying;
If God talks to you, you have schizophrenia.
If the dead talk to you, you are a spiritualist;
If God talks to you, you are a schizophrenic.

Has she been diagnosed with schizophrenia? Meds, hun.
run a spyware check when SHES there
Try showing her a program that cleans out viruses, spyware, etc. such as Ad-Aware or Spybot. Then, when you get the results, clean out the spyware and possibly viruses to prove to her that you deleted them in front of her to show that you have deleted this spyware your wife claims.
Be very understanding...Have her sit down with you at your computer, and download Spybot. It will delete any spyware that would happen to get into your computer. Show her how to run a scan and delete anything threatening. This should help, and you're off the hook!
I think that you should find a way to prove her wrong like tell her that your friends computer also has a spyware program on it. But she shouldn't be worried about it because she shouldn't be doing anything that u shouldn't know about.
It sounds like schizophrenia. I don't know how you can convince her that it is all in her mind though. That is one of the problems of the disease. But see if you can't talk her into going to a psychiatrist...if she does have a disorder, they can get her started on a drug regime that will help her see that no one is really out to get her.

I have posted a link below that offers some great suggestions of how to deal with a family member who is showing signs of paranoia and schizophrenia. It is a good starting point for you. Don't give up...left on her own, she will never be able to realize she is ill. And get someone who can be a strong support to you...it is going to be a hard journey. Best of luck to you!
You do not say if this is sudden onset, or if similar things have happened in the past. Her age also plays a role in possible diagnosis.

She may have a mental illness or she may have a medical illness. Neither is for sure without a full examination. If she is over 30, with no prior history of any psychotic symptoms, and no previous mental illnes, then you need to get her to a medical doctor immediately for a physical. If she is under 30, and has a family history of mental illness, it could be a mental health condition or a medical condition.

Please convince her to see a doctor, or take her yourself. Make sure that you are able to speak to the doctor and explain what has been going on fully as well. Every piece of information leads to resolution of the problem.
