Question: i have been on effexor 150 mg for 2 mnths now and 2 days ago stated taking 300 mg twice a day of lithium.. starting tom the dctor wants me to take the lithim 4 times a day now. is that safe. has anyone had good experiences with lithium? does it or will it slow down my racing mind? help!
Answers: You guys give terrible advice!!! She is obviously going through some issues with bipolar disease and you are not helping by telling her not to take meds and to start drinking liquor! Alcohol is not a good mix with either of the medicines you are on!!! Lithium is a very controlled drug and the doctor must do lithium blood levels periodically to make sure you are stay within the therapeutic range. It is easy to take too much and it will become toxic, but the doctor draws your blood to make test it and make sure it is not too much for you! Yes, it should help with your racing mind! Discuss your worries with your counselor, physician, and/or nurse -- shey should be able to help calm your fears!
Well i really do not know but it may hurt your body and other parts of your body so do not take that many unless you have heard from people that had prescriptions like that.
Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker!

Girl unless you have a church group to worry about you might as well use 'liquor is quicker' to kill brain cells. The body has ten endocrine hormones that don't like to be tricked. Go back to your expectations of love and life and revise them and you will get some sleep again. We are designed properly for life if the life you try to live is correct.
