Why do people think I am a nerd??
Question: I know I like to study and I know that I read for fun, but how do I convince my classmates that it is not bad to be a nerd/geek? Seriously! I have only one real friend!
Answers: Well, I have no friends and I'm not complaining. Like you, I am a nerd, but that's a compliment. In essence, they're admitting you're smarter than them. I suggest you accept yourself; don't try to change, because then you'd become a fraud. Besides you have your whole life ahead of you--especially, if you are a middle school or high school student. Just know that when you do something great (which I hope you think you will and can do. Ambition is a gift.) that you probably won't even remember these people.
Well you shouldn't be embrassed to be a nerd. And if everyones mean to you they wouldn't be very good friends anyways. Try looking for friends other places besides school. Places where people have the same intrests as you.
i have the same problem....people imidietly think im a nerd and smart and stuff...and it really cuts back on the friends, i too have only one REAL friend. i dont have an answer but just so u know your not the only one
people call you a nerd because a) they dont like you, b) they dont like the things you do, or c) you are smarter then the average of them. so to them it may be a bad thing to be called a nerd, but it really just means that youre more inteligent, next time just thank them.

It's their problem, not yours. They are jealous. And they can't relate to you, so they put you down. I guess it makes them feel better. Sometimes you need to look for friends in places outside of school. Maybe even try to meet people that go to a different school, or aren't in your classes. Library, bookstore, or where ever you like to go.
Because they're losers...and they think you're weird. ;) But that's okay. Lots of people read for fun and like to study. No biggie!
