Why eye color change??
Question: I am from a multiracial background and everyone from my immediate family has either medium brown eyes to dark brown. Now I have like hazel eyes. But when I was younger (from birth to 6 yrs) my eyes were this piercing ice blue-gray, then they turned to this hazel sienna brown. And I've notice recently that when I take pictures, my eyes are this blue-gray but when you see me they are hazel. Why is this? I don't understand.
And also... since my mother and uncle have been getting older their eyes have had this blue rim around their eyes. And its slowly getting bigger and its like engulfing their eyes. It looks like their eyes are turning blue. Is that what is happening to my eyes?
Answers: You sound nce, maybe I shouldn't tell you this but maybe your biological parents are not realy your biological parents (well at least one of them); now unless gene therapists and medical journals are wrong dark brown and brown color eyes = brown eyes.
light blue eye color is a recessive trait that you won't get unless one of you're parents has the color of the eye.
Anyother possibily is that your iris is losing eye tone but that only happens when people gets old because of their eye deterioration due to build up of lipid (you can clearly see this in folks 80+ or the elderly-- sounds like this happening to your mother and uncle).
anyways have fun.
Some people can have eye color change with certain clothes they wear. Mine are light brown, but have a green tone when I wear blue---go figure! Anyway, over the years, as with height, eye color in people can change. When you get older--about 70+--you'll get a little shorter due to spinal changes. It's a fact of life...Don't sweat it!
