Which is best for me: eyeglasses or contacts??

Question: I can't see farsighted and I am thinking of getting contacts. However, eyeglasses are a pain because the lenses have been getting scratched and sometimes frames do fall off my face. Once I had to take them off to ride the bus (had too many groceries). I don't know much about contact lenses. Can you give me more information like are they for everyday use and how do you know when to dispose of them, clean them etc. Also are they cheaper to get then a pair of glasses?
Answers: It's easy to use contacts, and you will see that your vision is much better and your vision angle is wider.
You have to care of them, cleaning and conserving properly everyday. But i recommend you don't left the glasses and use both, for example at work contact,at home glasses.
Good luck!!

Contacts can be more convenient, but not necessarily cheaper in the long run. It sounds like what you need is to have your glasses adjusted, or maybe just a new pair. You should go to your dr for a checkup if you haven't been in the past year, and ask him/her what they think.
Contacts if you can wear them. The initial cost is not that bad. plus Eyeware is so expensive now. Frames average 130 to 200. And the cheap ones are not very good. Then you have to add in the cost of Lense manufacturing. I spend on average 350+ for new frames. That is without the checkup fee too. I am trying contacts now. Go through as many disposables as you can and try them all. Optometrists gets so many samples all the time.

I have been wearing glasses/contacts for 27 years.

Good Luck

It depends on what you want. They both carry risks. With glasses, you risk high prices, dirty and scratched lenses, losing them, and breaking them. With contacts, you risk eye irritation or infections, the contacts falling out, always replacing them (if you get disposables), constant cleaning, and having them go out of place in your eye. Personally, I'd recommend glasses, but it's your choice. If you do stick with glasses, get some better fitting ones; if yours were falling off your face, they obviously didn't fit correctly.
If you are having problems with your glasses then contacts will probably be better. I just started wearing mine yesterday and trying to get used to them is really hard. It takes along time to get them in and out. They say that it gets easier the longer you wear them.
