Do you have to take out your contacts when you cry??
Question: Okay, I know it's a really strange question, but I tend to cry a lot ( I just DO.) and I don't really want to ask my eye doctor. I'm getting fitted for contacts this tuesday, and I'm sooort of nervous. Also, do you have any helpful tips for someone wearing contacts for the first time? Thanks<3
Answers: No worry about crying with them in. The doc and his assistants should be able to answer all your questions. At work, I teach people how to take there contacts in and out and how to care for them. I love it when we first put them in, and people look around and say, Wow! Hope you love them!
no lol you don't take out your contacts when you cry. Just when you sleep. :)
No. I have contacts. You don't have to take 'em out. Anyone who says different is an idiot.
No you do not take them out when you cry. Not sure why you are nervous about getting fitted for contacts. It is an extremely easy and painless procedure.
No.
u dun have to take them off.u can feel free to cry whenever u have ur contacts on.
No, in fact the tears are good they give your eyes moisture that is needed when you have contacts. Who has time to take out contacts before crying? Wait, I can't cry yet- gotta take out the contacts Yeah that will happen. Cry with them in, just don't rub your eyes- that can make them fall out.
As for tips for wearing them your doctor should tell you all this, but the first time I tried wearing contacts was a bad experience because the doctor told me nothing.
1. Talk to your doctor about your eyes, if they water a lot, if you get eye allergies (this is less for me with contacts), if they get dry a lot- that kind of stuff. This is important. My first try at contacts, they gave me regular Acuvues, I can't remember if I talked to the doctor about my dry eyes and allergies or not. At that time, Acuvues just had one kind, and that is what they gave everyone. They did not work for my eyes. Two different times (same company) they tried to put me in Acuvues, but they weren't successful. Finally I started seeing a new doctor who tried for years to get me into contacts, when he finally convinced me, he put me in a contact that gives more moisture to my eyes. With that and the rest of the Advice I will share, I could wear contacts. I have not gone back to glasses, that was like 7 years ago.
2. Ease into them. Your eyes need time to get used to them. The first day wear them for like an hour or two. Double that the next day, and keep doing that until you can wear them all day. Trust me this will Make a huge difference. I was not told this on my first two attempts, maybe if I had been then I would have worn contacts sooner.
3. Insist that someone who wears contacts, sit down with you and show you how to get them in and out easily. My first attempt, they gave me my contacts, took me to a mirror and told me to put them in. Every now and then they would come over and tell me I was doing it wrong, try to describe to me how to do it and then leave. It took me like an hour to get them in and I left them in because I wanted to get out of there. I never could get the hang of it. When I finally learned, One of the gals at the good doctors office sat across from me( I did not insist, she just did it)- She took hers out and then put them back in so that I could watch. Then she had me try . She sat there and coached me until I could get them in quickly. It is hard to describe here or I would tell you how. Then she showed me how to take them out, and sat with me until I could get them in and out quickly. To get them out, With your finger, move them to the corner of your eye, they will fold up and then come out really easy. Don't leave the doctors office until you have this down. If they are too busy to take the time to teach you, then maybe you should get a different doctor.
Oh one last thing- eye drops will become your best friend for the first little bit. keep them handy.
