When reading a book my eyes become blurry after about 30 minutes. do i need to get my eyes checked, or normal??

Answers: you are getting eyestrain. see your optometrist , you may need reading glasses
That happens to me too, but it recovers quickly soon after. i dont think it causes any damage. Its probably similar to what people would call 'square eyes' from watching too much TV.
I'm sure it isn't anything fatal - but I would suggest seeing an optometrist - you may need glasses. If you work with computers - watching a PC screen all day can cause eye strain which would cause your eyes to blurr with concentrating on images such as print in a book.
I would have to say stay on the safe side and go to the eye doctor . It does not hurt they just look in to your eyes with a little hand tool and maybe put some drops in your eyes it is ez.
It is just because you are focusing on something so close for so long. My optometrist recommended to me that at least every thity minutes or so you look away from the book and focus on something across the room. Reading so long without looking away can cause headaches and what is called eye strain.
Age has alot to do with it .My eye dr says almost everyone over 40 needs at least reading glasses .Just life !! Good Luck .
