My left eye lid keeps "twitching" this has been going on for 2 days. Why??

Answers: It could be stress-related, or it could be strain (i.e. watching too much t.v. or being on the computer more than normal.) If you have just increased dosage on or started taking a new medication, you might want to consider that possibility as well, and consult your doctor if the spasms continue.

I get those twitches sometimes too, they're annoying, but they seem to go away. Also, if it's a constant thing, as opposed to happening for a few min every once in a while, that might be a greater cause for concern.
It is stress, mine does this every once in a while. Go take a bath and try and relax.
Eyelid twitch is usually the result of an electrolyte or metabolic imbalance. Some reasons for eyelid twitch include: low potassium levels, high caffeine intake, stress, and/or lack of sleep. Since this list of causes affects most people, eye-lid twitch is a very common problem!
I'll save you a trip to the doctor. He will blame it on stress. They blame just about EVERYTHING on stress! Beyond that, I don't know. I get that every now and then. Sometimes it is in my face, like maybe in the cheek. Maybe it is stress. Maybe it is some bizarre electrical storm inside my body. As I say, I don't know. I just wish a doctor was as free to admit that.
It normally is just a nerve if it continues I woud call my Doctor but it should stop, It could also be from dry tear ducts
Usually this happens when you have not gotten enough rest. I bet if you go to bed early a couple nights in a row and eat a lot of ftuits and vegetables and drink some water it will ease up and go away when you are nourished and rested enough.
for me, im quite supersticious.if its your left eye than its bad luck but right eye is good luck.
if you watch tv play video games or look at bright lights too much then you should stop for a day or 2 beacause it can cause seizures.
Eye twitching is usually a sign of fatigue or stress...it happens to me all the time. Nothing to worry about. Its more annoying than anything. Get yourself to bed a little earlier tonight and see if the twitching stops. Chances are it will subside in a few days...

Sweet dreams!
I have had this same problem many times especially in high school, I contacted my eye doctor and he determined it was just stress. Which in turn made me more stressed so it lasted for about a week. So I suggest calming down, placing a cold compress on your eye a few times a day, and if it worsens or doesn't stop in a few days contact a doctor.
The most common answer (and I was always told this too) is stress, but my experience with the same symptom has often come at a time when I was relatively stress-free. I have found that a potential reason is low electrolytes and dehydration. The muscles in your eyes need the same nutrients as all the rest of your body, and can exhibit spasms when your chemistry isn't right. Make sure you have enough water in your system to keep things running right.. a good rule of thumb is to check the color of your urine.. if it looks like apple juice, you are probably lacking hydration. It's a lot easier to quick-fix this problem than trying to reduce stress.
I used to get that when I was stressed out. Try to relax.
